About Frank Shyong
I’m a journalist writing about food, people, places, cities and culture based in Los Angeles. Most recently, I was a metro columnist at the LA Times, where I worked for more than 12 years. I covered local news and wrote enterprise stories on race, immigration, Asian Americans, the economics and policy of ethnic neighborhoods, food and all things unique to Los Angeles. There, I helped create and host the Asian Enough podcast and saw a story I wrote adapted into a feature film. Then I left, and wrote about it here.
