You're Right, I Do Look Tired

Writing became my obsession after moving to Chicago in 2009. After a brief stint scribbling sketch comedy, I turned my true life adventures into performances for the “live lit” scene, a Chicago storytelling community focused on autobiographical works. I felt like I had finally unearthed my creative purpose at the tender age of 43. It was short lived as I stopped writing and performing after being diagnosed with Parkinson’s disease in 2018. I allowed being chronically ill to consume my identity for more than six years.

Thanks to a New Year’s date with a psychic and the suggestion of a loving friend, I put together this Substack in February of 2024.
