About Athena
I’m a writer, editor, and builder of strange worlds.
My work lives at the intersection of history, power, and the spiritual traditions of the Black Atlantic. I’m particularly interested in the stories that sit just beneath the official record—the folklore, rebellions, religions, and ghosts that refuse to disappear.
Much of my current work connects to a larger project called The Mississippi Lwa Nocturne, a speculative world shaped by the Gulf South, the Caribbean, and the long afterlives of empire.
The Newsletter
Legba’s Tongue is where I publish essays, fiction, and cultural criticism about:
hidden histories
speculative worlds
religion and folklore
literature and power
Some pieces are stories. Some are research notes.
