Upward Bound is a newsletter about social mobility, families, gender economics, and economic progress. It features deep dives into the intersection of policy and culture, wonky discussions of new research, and commentary on fertility, marriage, and other social topics with important economic implications.
Some of the themes I hope to explore include:
Providing an informed and data driven case for optimism when it comes to economic growth and social mobility
Educating readers about the economic realities of birth dearth and falling marriage rates
An empathetic reading of economic data. Understanding that the data is made up of people with stories that deserve to be shared and understood. In turn, I hope to share my personal narrative and the narrative of my friends to show how I see economic realities in my day-to-day
Discussing the ways governments can hurt or help individuals in their pursuit of social mobility, bettering their lives, and starting a family
