What is The Scoop: This series originated as a literary interview series with authors over ice cream. Now, I’ll be writing about whatever’s been on my mind: what I’ve been reading and watching and writing, who I’ve been loving, where I’ve been eating, the stuff my friends say over drinks about love, and a running diary of life in Las Vegas.
About me: I’m a nonbinary writer based in Brooklyn and the author of the novels The Atmospherians and People Collide, which was named a New York Times Critic’s Pick and a best book of 2023 by Vogue, Vulture, NPR, among other places. The book is currently being adapted for TV by Abbi Jacobson. This fall, I’m moving to Las Vegas to be a Shearing Fellow at the Black Mountain Institute. I regularly write about sex and food and books and movies for outlets like The Cut, Vulture, and The Atlantic.
