This newsletter is an attempt to understand the current moment in the fight for gender equality, and the evident backlash to feminist progress. Every month or so I will speak to someone who can explain what’s going on far better than I can. I will also share links to things I think are worth reading, watching or listening to.
I want to think about feminist progress, and the backlash to it, globally. And I want to know whether the sheer hopelessness I feel about the persistence of sexism and misogyny is warranted.
