About Jorge Delgado-Ureña
Jorge Delgado Ureña is a photographer, writer, and educator, and the co-founder of The Raw Society, an international photography community and educational platform. His work is rooted in documentary storytelling, personal narrative, and the philosophy of presence, guiding photographers toward a more intentional and meaningful creative practice.
With almost two decades of travel and fieldwork across regions including Iraqi Kurdistan, Oaxaca, Nepal, Morocco, and Ukraine, Jorge’s photography explores themes of identity, culture, ritual, and the human experience during moments of transition or conflict. He teaches workshops around the world and has mentored hundreds of photographers in authorship, visual storytelling, editing, and the development of a personal point of view.
Beyond his photographic work, Jorge is an established writer whose essays blend travel narrative with creative philosophy and reflective commentary on the role of the photographer today. His writing appears in interviews and throughout the educational materials of The Raw Society.
