The commentary in The Empty City is about law and the polity, and it is written from a critical and practical (and usually liberal and constitutionalist) perspective.
In particular, it explores how things work and do not work in law and policy - and about how laws and policies are made, and about how cases end up in court. It also seeks to place things in historical and international contexts.
Many of the posts here are cross-posted to and from my law and policy blog.
There is also original content for The Empty City.
The Empty City was previously called “law and lore”.
