About The Black Wall Street Times
Welcome to The Black Wall Street Times—your destination for fearless reporting that amplifies Black voices, holds power to account, and carries forward the legacy of Tulsa’s Historic Greenwood District.
Our Roots
Founded in 2017 by Nehemiah D. Frank—a descendant of Tulsa Race Massacre survivors—BWST began as a response to biased local reporting that failed to reflect the truth of Black life in Oklahoma.
Our name honors the resilience of Black Wall Street, once a thriving epicenter of Black excellence before it was violently destroyed in 1921. That history lives in us—and pushes us forward.
Our Mission
We exist to: Amplify underrepresented voices.
