About Sarah
Hi, I’m Sarah Sentilles—a writer, artist whisperer, and fierce believer in the power of creative work. I live in a small mountain town in Idaho, where I’m writing my first novel and trying, like so many of us, to make meaning out of the mess.
I’ve written a handful of nonfiction books, including Draw Your Weapons and Stranger Care, and I founded The Word Project to lead writing workshops and retreats that help people claim permission, find freedom, and make what they’re here to make. I also co-founded the Alliance of Idaho, which protects the rights of immigrants in our community.
Everything I teach, I learned the hard way. Teaching feels like activism to me—and like a kind of ministry too.
