Hi there! I’m Rebekah Peeples — a sociologist, educator, mother, and (thanks to this platform! ) a writer. My work has been featured in The Washington Post, Inside Higher Ed, and on NPR.
I love thinking and writing about all of the ways that big ideas from the social sciences can help us understand the seemingly small details of our daily lives, which is why I decided to call this newsletter No Small Thing.
Although I write about a range of topics here, a common thread has to do with how parents and other adults can help young people grow into adulthood with a sense of purpose, agency, and connection to others.
