Nicolas Rapold + The Last Thing I Saw
Welcome to The Last Thing I Saw! I’m Nicolas Rapold, a writer and an editor (@nicolasrapold). My features, interviews, festival dispatches, and reviews have been published in The New York Times, Sight & Sound, Air Mail, Filmmaker, Screen Slate, Artforum, and W Magazine (as well as dearly departed publications such as The Village Voice, Stop Smiling, The New York Sun, and The L Magazine). I worked as editor-in-chief of Film Comment, where I was for 15 years. I am the author of the book The Worlds of Hayao Miyazaki and the forthcoming Frederick Wiseman: Interviews.
My podcast, The Last Thing I Saw, celebrates the art of conversation about movies through chats with critics, filmmakers, and other movie lovers, including Jane Campion, David Fincher, Todd Haynes, Laura Poitras, Amy Taubin, Paul Schrader, Manohla Dargis, Park Chanwook, Janicza Bravo, Bertrand Bonello, and more.
