About Michael Scott Moore
Hello from the home office of Radio Free Mike. If you know anything about my career, you’ll know why freedom is an essential idea to me, and why the focus of this podcast is “freedom and its discontents. ” I’ll start by talking to some friends from the hostage community, but I’ll go on to chat with a whole assortment of people, not just journalists, from the world of books and film.
I’m an author and journalist, Michael Scott Moore. I lived for over a decade in Berlin and worked for Spiegel Online. I was also held hostage for a few years by a gang of Somali pirates, and that story’s told in a book called The Desert and the Sea.
