Hi, I’m Petra
I’m a writer, poet, and editor, alongside being a mother-carer to my wee one (who’ll you’ll meet as Moonchild) in these letters.
I started this Substack as a way to write about the things that interest and obsess me. I write about motherhood, ecologies, landscape and the natural world, and how I find my place within it.
I called this newsletter Submerge because it’s a word that’s always held a lot of power for me. I love the water, and grew up swimming almost every day (in part competitively). When I gave that up, I remade my relationship with water, and I seek it out wherever I am.
