About Mary Elizabeth Williams

Oh, hi there.

I’m pretty new at this, but basically, I’m here to rant about healthcare injustice, offer some thoughts on how to make it better, and share first person stories about the patient experience. I was radicalized by getting bigtime cancer in 2010, having my kids go through an array of exciting and terrifying illnesses, and watching my mom and mother-in-law live out their last days in the cruel curse that is dementia.

But also I’m pretty fun.

I’m an author and speaker and student and award-winning journalist. You are a person who exists in corporeal form and thus at some point has gotten sick or injured or cared for someone who has.
