Hello and welcome!
My name is Paris Hurley and I am an artist and mother. I write books, contribute to film scores, and make music under the name, OBJECT AS SUBJECT.
I have experienced pregnancy, labor, birth by cesarean, birth trauma, postpartum depression, learning to breastfeed, and have been the primary caregiver of my child since January 2022. In other words, I do a lot of labor that is largely invisible, illegible, and undervalued within American overculture and spend most of my time inhabiting identities that often co-exist and yet are mythologically pit against one and other.
