Notes On is a place for thoughts that begin in the margins: poems scrawled on napkins, screenshots from my notes app, half-formed ideas that have percolated, over time, into sprawling ones.
The work sits somewhere between the ordinary and the cultural: internet moments and literary ones; hangovers in your late twenties; the way books are treated like fast fashion; the strange overlap between pop culture, identity, and how we learn to live. It’s writing about how to make sense of this confusing, tumultuous, conflicted world in which we live – and how to find beauty along the way.
If the song ‘I Hate It Here’ by Taylor Swift describes the real world, then this newsletter is my equivalent of ‘secret gardens in my mind. ’ But here’s the difference: I’m giving you the key.
