To become a doctor takes years of education. If you want to become a surgeon, add another 7-10 years of learning on top of the basic MD/DO degree timeline. And I know from experience. Before my surgery fellowship, there was general surgery, medical school, and an undergraduate degree. A total of 16 years of higher education.
The education I received over my years of training has been invaluable.
