I’m a documentary filmmaker, and I’m always looking for a hidden history.
I initially started this Substack during a fallow period between projects–not my favorite state of being. I never make autobiographical films, but I wanted to experiment with telling personal stories that tap into bigger cultural histories.
I kept a pot diary, wrote about storied buildings I set foot in during my early years in New York. Now I’m mostly telling stories that are better essays than films–queer biographies, subcultural histories, and every once in a while, some stoner content.
I’m working toward a bigger writing project that encompasses all of these things, so thanks for checking out the smaller stories I have to tell along the way.
