Why This? Why Now?
Not a day goes by in America that politicians on the right and the (ostensible) left don’t refer to Stormy Daniels in a pejorative way. This famed sex worker sits at the intersection of American politics and cultural discourse, despite being shamed by the very progressives who should be singing her praises. Even the subtext amongst left-leaning late night commentators like Kimmel and others is one in which Daniels is the butt of the joke. This culturally accepted whorephobia, alongside countless fall-outs from bipartisan policies like FOSTA/SESTA and other misogynistic fuckery masquerading as “saving women” and “saving children” illuminate now more than ever the need for sex worker writing and other testimonies from those of us with lived experience.
