About John Ivison

Grumpy Scottish journalist, baffled by new technology, who wants a venue for flights of fancy on politics, music and sports.

I’ve written about Canadian and British politics and business for the past 35 years, for publications ranging from the National Post to The Scotsman; from the National Enquirer to The Economist. I’ve also produced two books - Trudeau: The Education of a Prime Minister and The Riotous Passions of Robbie Burns - and four children - James, Fiona, William and Mollie. I’m married to Dana Cryderman, a Canadian diplomat, and we live in San Jose, Costa Rica, where she is head of the political section.
