I study human evolution and genetics. I’ve done research examining almost every part of our evolutionary story, from the very origin of the human lineage more than six million years ago up to the present day. My research includes study of fossil evidence from ancient human relatives, as well as DNA samples from ancient bones and from living people. I’m an author, documentary presenter, and explorer.
Here at my weblog, I’ve been writing about this work and the broader picture of human origins for more than twenty years.
For the past decade, I have worked with an amazing team of scientists and explorers in South Africa.
