About the Author
I’m a former NHS ‘suit’ who once specialised in assessment of clinical outcomes for cardiac surgery, cardiology and cardiac anaesthesia at a UK teaching hospital. Before this I headed a statistical modelling section as a G7 UK government scientist working on a wide variety of projects. Right at the very beginning, however, I started out as a research neurophysiologist at a funky university.
Instead of pruning roses, mowing the lawn and waxing the car I have spent my retirement analysing data - and lots of it. More recently my focus has been on the 2020 global ‘pandemic’, with climate change being a perpetual source of numerical joy. Well before climate and COVID came along I engaged in all manner of privately-funded and self-directed research of an exotic nature.
