I look for ‘hidden gems’ in the small-cap value space. These businesses are usually leaders in niches but may be overlooked because they receive little coverage, operate in unpopular industries, or offer terrific opportunities beyond short-term concerns.
The defining feature of my research is that I do extensive primary research, typically sourcing and speaking with 20 industry experts prior to making an investment, with ongoing conversations and attendance at industry events like trade shows.
