About Elisabeth Marnik, PhD
I have a PhD from Tufts University where I used genetic tools to study the role of CD4 T cells in the immune system and autoimmune disease. I then did a postdoctoral fellowship where I studied how stem cells maintain the ability to become any needed cell type. Following my postdoc I was an Assistant Professor at a university for four years where I taught biology, microbiology, biochemistry, immunology and more.
During these experiences, I discovered a passion for science education and communication and started Science Whiz Liz.
I recently resigned my faculty position to take a position spearheading the development of science education and outreach programming that incorporates hands on science and research.
I am also a contributing writer for Those Nerdy Girls and ASBMB Today.
