Eclectic Letters is a new, experimental, communal newsletter of arts and ideas.
The newsletter was born of frustration with the way we use social media. For the first time in history, we can, with just a few clicks, connect instantaneously with artists, writers, musicians, scientists, and philosophers from all around the world — not to mention many millions of smart and curious laypeople. Our ancestors would be astonished. And yet, most of the time, we squander the opportunity.
One of the most dispiriting things is just how predictable — and lacking in genuine serendipity — online life has become.
