He also directs Borders Online Ltd, providing rural broadband in Scotland, and Polare AI Ltd, developing AI for efficient energy management.

I started this newsletter in autumn 2023 to disseminate my work on energy, environment, infrastructure, land use, and economic policy — subjects I've focused on for over five decades. My articles explain my background and direct approach to policy.
