What We Do

Brief Ecology is an independent publisher of ecological news, essays, books, book reviews, and fiction. We publish two monthly periodicals: The Eco Update features original environmental news, photography, and book reviews, while The Rotting Leaf is a literary space for new and original eco-fiction.

Who We Are

Ben Lockwood is the editor-in-chief at Brief Ecology. Ben is an ecologist and geographer in the Department of Ecosystem Science and Management at The Pennsylvania State University. He holds a Ph. D.
