About LAST CALL
When you subscribe LAST CALL, you’ll receive weekly spirited dispatches on bars and bar culture, drinks and spirits, restaurants and regional foodways, and popular culture—including, articles, interviews, profiles, personal essays, recipes, round-ups, and first-look behind-the-scenes details on my books, projects, and events.
I hail from Central New York (I lived in Canastota and Oneida, located between Utica and Syracuse) and have lived in Brooklyn, New York, since 2010. I went to college at SUNY-Oswego on the banks of Lake Ontario and received an MFA in writing from Columbia University. My dreams of becoming a young novelist were met with the reality of working in a bookstore before moving to Seattle where I became a senior editor on the books team at Amazon for over a decade, where I ran point on the cooking, food, and wine category. I moved back to New York in 2010 and worked as an executive marketing director for two different publishers (with a focus on cooking and lifestyle) before going freelance full-time in 2017.
I’ve been writing about drinks, spirits, and bar culture since 2008 and my work has appeared in publications including Bon Appétit, Food & Wine, Travel + Leisure, Lucky Peach, Whisky Advocate, Imbibe, PUNCH, TASTE, and VinePair among others.
