About Diana Strinati Baur

My work is rooted in place, in story, and in the transformation of raw materials—clay, wood, soil, pigment and words—into forms that combine function, meaning and beauty.

I’m Diana, a potter, writer, artist, and designer, living and creating between the Black Forest of southern Germany and the wine hills of northern Italy.

My creative path has carried me across continents and through many incarnations: marketing executive, innkeeper, language trainer, web designer, published author, and ceramic artist. Each chapter has left its imprint, layering culture, rhythm, and perspective into the way I see and create.

In Italy, my husband Michael and I restored an 18th‑century ruin into a five‑star bed and breakfast in the vineyards of Piemonte. Later, in southern Germany, we undertook the restoration of an 1830 timber‑framed house, where the old barn now serves as an open kitchen and enoteca for Babarolo, our Italian wine company.
